£80M biomass power station for Brigg

PPH Commercial are delighted to announce the sale of 13 acres of industrial land at the Former British Sugar Factory in Brigg, North Lincolnshire
Now known as Glanford Vale Business Park, the land has been sold to Eco 2 (North Lincs) Ltd and will be developed into a new build £80M straw burning biomass power station. Eco2 is a creative and open-minded renewable energy company with a practical vision for the future. It specialises in initiating, developing, financing and operating renewable energy projects throughout the UK and Europe. Their current activities encompass Biomass, Wind and emerging technologies such as Tidal Power. Charles Atkinson of PPH who handled the deal commented “it is very pleasing to see that after more than 4 years of hard work in obtaining planning and overcoming the various hurdles, we have completed the sale of this brownfield site. It is excellent news for Brigg and the local economy and I wish Eco 2 all the best in their plans. The Socio-Economic Benefits are 40MW renewable energy in base load operation, 250,000 tonnes CO2 saved per year, Local straw contracts worth circa £6m p.a., 30 jobs in operation / 50 in fuel supply and the Ash being the end product is recycled for fertiliser.”
