PPH COMMERCIAL COMPLETE THREE MAJOR TRANSACTIONS AT THE MALTINGS

No let up over Christmas

PPH news image

Three major lettings totalling about 16,000 sq ft have been completed at Anchor House, the Maltings.

The transactions, which have all been completed by PPH Commercial on behalf of the landlord, represent one of the most significant transactions in the Maltings in recent years.

ResQ Limited has taken 10,000 sq ft at the development.

The call centre operator, which now employs around 50 people in the Maltings in Silver Street and a further 170 people in Carr Lane, has taken up the entire second floor of the building.

BCD Travel Ltd has taken a 4,000 sq ft space, while Unite has taken a further 2,000 sq ft.

The three transactions were completed before Christmas, thanks to negotiations with local building contractor Millingtons, which worked over the festive period to ensure refurbishments were completed quickly, as well as the relocation of some existing tenants to free up required space. The new tenants had all moved in within days of the deals being signed.

Nick Pearce, partner of PPH Commercial dealt with the transactions. He said "It had been a challenge to complete all three deals before Christmas, especially as the lettings involved the surrender of an existing lease, the relocation of existing tenants to free up space and extensive refurbishment works, all of which have had to be dovetailed into a tight timescale to suit everybody's needs".

"Local contractors were appointed to carry out all the work, which is a great boost for the local economy".

ResQ was able to secure the expansion thanks to funding from council backed initiatives the Acorn Fund and Hull Investment Fund.

Nic Marshall, managing director of ResQ said "We had looked at a number of venues in the city centre and the Maltings was ideal. Nick from PPH worked hard to ensure everybody was able to move in smoothly and I worked closely with Shaun from Chameleon, who designed the fit out. When he did the plans for Anchor House, it was perfect".
