OIL AND GAS FIRM EXPANDS
Consultancy company that manages drilling projects has more space

An independent consultancy firm that manages deep oil and gas well drilling projects around the globe has expanded its operations on the Bessingby Industrial Estate, near Bridlington.
Moorhouse Petroleum Ltd, trading as Moorhouse Drilling And Completions, provides drilling management and supervision to the onshore oil and gas, coal based methane and gas storage industries.
The company, which has headquarters in Keighley, has been in business since 1994.
It opened on the Bessingby Industrial Estate last August to serve its growing client base along the east coast, and is involved in underground gas storage operations at Caythorpe and Aldbrough, near Hornsea, among other projects.
Now the firm has expanded on the site, acquiring an additional 20,000 sq ft workshop, storage and distribution centre.
The centre, which comes equipped with offices, will soon boast a secure pipe storage and washdown yard, and it brings Moorhouse's storage capacity on the estate to more than 40,000 sq ft.
Director James Sands said he was delighted with how the company's East Yorkshire based operations had grown.
He said "We opened here in August last year and always planned to expand, although maybe not as quickly as this. However, most of our clients are locally based, around Bridlington and Scarborough and down to Hornsea and Aldbrough, so the location is ideal. We have a dedicated staff level of 30 people and are looking to increase this further".
The sale was negotiated by Ben Medhurst, commercial partner at PPH Commercial. He said "I would like to wish Moorhouse every success in their new premises and understand there are a number of new jobs that will be created off the back of this acquisition, which is excellent news for the local economy".
